Lesson 27- Number One Rule for an independent Case Broker - Tell the Truth
In accordance with an independent Case Broker’s need to be scrupulously honest, there is an analogy that says: Never make any promises to the Applicant…Repeat, Never!
It’s easy to be enthusiastic and it is human nature to try and give people, particularly those unfortunates who have suffered a physical injury, some encouragement. But you cannot promise any results.
You cannot promise any results even if you think they have a great case. There is a good chance that you don’t know the whole story or even a significant portion of the story. The Applicant may not be disclosing pertinent information that will negatively affect their case.
Your job as an independent Case Broker is to locate potential Applicants, listen to their stories, collect their case information, and submit their case to an advance company. This does not mean that you don’t have empathy for their situation. In fact, if you aren’t feeling concern for the Applicant after you have heard their story, you may want to check your heart.
